Karabakh is free
In the autumn of 2020, in 44 days, the Azerbaijani army liberated Shusha and hundreds of settlements, restoring the country's territorial integrity.
44 days that changed history
The Second Karabakh — Patriotic — War lasted from 27 September to 10 November 2020, just 44 days. In that time the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan liberated the city of Shusha and more than three hundred settlements that had been occupied for almost three decades.
On 8 November, after an extremely difficult mountain operation, Shusha — the symbolic heart of Karabakh — was liberated. On 10 November a trilateral ceasefire statement was signed. So ended the war that returned Azerbaijan's lands, and to hundreds of thousands of people the hope of coming home.

Lands returned
Among the liberated and returned districts and cities are the historic centres of Karabakh:

The “Iron Fist”
The Patriotic War operation entered history under this name. The combination of professional infantry, artillery, special forces and modern drones let the army act swiftly and precisely in the most difficult mountain terrain.

September 2023
In September 2023, local anti-terror measures restored Azerbaijan's full sovereignty over the entire territory of Karabakh, completing the process begun with the 2020 victory.
Karabakh is Azerbaijan. The land has come home.
